24 THE MOUTHS OF SIRION

The Sirion (along with the Gelion) was one of the great rivers of Beleriand. From its origins in Dorthonion and the Ered Wethrin, it flowed down through Doriath before finding the sea in a wide delta.

Towards the end of the First Age, when Beleriand had been overrun by the servants of Morgoth, the remaining peoples made their way to the Mouths of the Sirion and CĂrdan the shipwright built the Havens of Sirion there.
